ROLPA. The District Police Office of Rolpa has arrested a fugitive who had been absconding for 15 years in connection with a murder case. The 64-year-old man, Man Bahadur Oli, from Jhaajhar Khola, Ganga Deva Rural Municipality, Rolpa, was apprehended.
According to Rohit Kumar Shahi, spokesperson for the District Police Office of Rolpa, Oli was convicted by the District Court of Rolpa on April 28, 2011, in a murder case and was sentenced to three years in prison.
Following the court’s verdict, Oli had gone into hiding. Wali was apprehended by a team led by Inspector Dev Singh Bhandari of the local police station in Ghartigaun, Shahi added.
The arrested oli was brought to the District Court of Rolpa on Sunday for necessary proceedings. upon court order, he was Sent to the District Prison Office of Rolpa to serve his sentence.
The District Police Office of Rolpa reported that they had arrested 46 accused persons in the last fiscal year alone.
